Veeam is widely regarded to be the best-in-class solution for Backup and Replication, so it is important that your organisation has the invaluable skills necessary to support or deploy the Veeam Availability Suite.

There are two levels of technical certification for Veeam which help to demonstrate your expertise across the Veeam Availability Suite. The Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE) and the Veeam Certified Architect (VMCA).

Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE)

The VMCE is suitable for Veeam administrators or support engineers and contains key backup and replication concepts as well as Veeam specific technologies. The VMCE is an in-depth 3-day course covering the following topics and products:

  • Restoring from Backup
  • Backup Copy Jobs
  • Replication
  • Failover
  • Advanced Repository Capabilities
  • Testing Backup and Replication
  • Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager
  • Veeam ONE
  • Troubleshooting

After completing a VMCE course, you can then go on to take the VMCE exam. Note that attendance on a Veeam authorised course is required before a VMCE exam can be booked.

Veeam Certified Architect (VMCA)

Previously known as the VMCE-ADO, the new VMCA certification prepares candidates with the necessary skills to design, deploy and optimise Veeam Availability Suite deployments in any environment. This is a 2-day course covering the following topics:

  • Design and Sizing
  • Infrastructure Assessment
  • Security
  • Optimisations
  • Automation
  • Audit and Compliance
  • Troubleshooting

After completing a VMCA course, you can then go on to take the VMCA exam. Note that attendance on a Veeam authorised course is required before a VMCA exam can be booked.
